Texture Artist
Summary: Creates and applies textures needed to achieve desired surface qualities for the completion of 3D CG characters, sets, and other models for Digital TV Series.
Location: Marin County, CA

Reports To: Digital Set Supervisor
Responsibilities:
* Works with preproduction team to execute the desired look of textures for CG objects and characters.
* Participates as a team member in determining various design solutions.
* Works closely with Art Director, Modelers, and Lead TD in achieving desired look of models.
* Maintains or exceeds consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work
Education, Experience and Skills:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 2 years experience in a related field.
* Demonstrated artistic ability. (Please provide portfolio of paintings, practically painted models and/or CG art, etc.)
* Experience in UV layout, texture projections, and 2D texture painting in UV layouts.
* Procedural texture writing experience a plus.
* Proficiency in the application and use of textures in one or more 3D applications (Maya preferred).
* Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
* Basic knowledge of UNIX and Windows.
* Attention to detail required.
* Ability to learn quickly and assimilate new information.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Good organizational skills.
This position requires you to submit a reel of your work by mail. In addition, you must submit your information online.
Guidelines for submitting a reel:
* A completed submission release form is required for all portfolio submissions. We will not review your work until we receive your release form. Please download this Submission Release Form, complete and sign, then mail to the address below.
* When submitting your portfolio/reel, please do not include originals as we are unable to return the materials you submit.
* Reels should be on DVD, NTSC format - no Beta, VHS, 3/4" or CDs, please.
* Please include a shot breakdown explaining what you did on your reel and what software (if applicable) was used to achieve the effects. The length of your reel should be limited to 3 minutes and consist of work that best exemplifies your abilities, starting with your most recent work. Music is not necessary.

Current and upcoming projects include our 3D Animated Clone Wars Episodic TV Series and early development on our yet to be titled first 3D Animated Digital Feature, and a yet to be titled Handheld Game.
