Lead Animator
Team Bondi is an independent game development company based in Sydney, Australia. Headed up by Brendan McNamara and featuring a team of seasoned games professionals, Team Bondi will produce next-generation console titles. The current title in development, L.A. Noire is a re-creation of a 194o's detective thriller as a game and is being published by Rockstar Games: www.rockstargames.com/lanoire
We are currently looking for a talented Lead Animator to manage the Animation pipeline, team and motion capture for the project.
Responsibilities
- Leading a team of 12 animation and character artists
- Offering guidance and mentoring for junior to senior level animators
- Liaising with external mocap facilities in order to deliver data of the highest quality
- Scheduling the team
- Provide regular feedback for the team from the Game Director
- Maintains vision and quality of the team
Required Experience
- Proficient with setting up and maintaining animation rigs
- High levels of technical competency in both Maya and Motion Builder
- Understands the technical limitations of character modelling and animation within a development environment
- Experience of animation pipelines within a game development production
- Experience of working with in house tools and console development process
- Understanding of character pipeline from modelling, rigging and skinning through to animation
- Motion Capture Experience, including successful planning and organised mocap shoots
- Understands camera principles and cinematic processes
Required Qualification
- Accomplished animator with experience of leading a team through at least one AAA title
- Excellent problem solver who can focus on detail, while maintaining the whole picture
- Ability to work with a range of disciplines including Art, Programming, Design and Production
